Fayoum Heritage Hub
Reviving Fayoum’s heritage as a living economy. A Net-Zero hub on Lake Qarun generating 300 jobs through interactive artisan workshops and sustainable Rammed Earth design.
Overview
Fayoum heritage hub is a sustainable cultural hub in Fayoum, positioned on Lake Qarun to convert tourist traffic into tangible economic value. The project introduces an active marketplace model where artisan workshops (weaving & pottery) serve as both educational spaces and income generators for the community.
Technically, the hub achieves a Net Zero Energy standard. By integrating Solar and Hydroelectric systems and utilizing Rammed Earth, the design reduces energy demand by 50% and water usage by 40%. It creates an inclusive environment where environmental responsibility meets economic growth, preserving Fayoumi heritage while securing its future
