The Resilience Thinking 'Walkshop', to be trialed in Barcelona during UIA26, is a transdisciplinary pedagogical tool combining outdoor walking with sustainability. The project proposes a new way of exploring the relationship between cities and nature through the central role of water.

Overview

The Resilience Thinking Walkshop is a transdisciplinary pedagogical tool combining outdoor walking with sustainability science to create embodied, place-based learning in higher education. Built on three principles — Transdisciplinary Epistemic Practices, Resilience Thinking Framework (adaptive cycles, panarchy, tipping points), and Collective Social Practice — it positions the landscape itself as classroom, laboratory, and community space simultaneously. Applied across Pratt Institute (New York), EINA/UAB (Barcelona), and community contexts including MAS NYC Janes Walk, the resilience thinking walkshop experiential Learning pedagogy will be developed  as a pedagogical tool kit for the Barcelona 2026 World Architecture Capital by the UNESCO.
