Community Participation and Decision Making or “Towards a Partnered Community” is a local initiative led by the Dura Youth Council in cooperation with the Municipality of Dura. The project is built around a simple idea: bringing decision-making closer to people.

Overview

“Towards a Partnered Community” is a local initiative led by the Dura Youth Council in cooperation with the Municipality of Dura. The project is built around a simple idea: bringing decision-making closer to people. The city was divided into neighborhoods, and 17 local committees were formed, each made up of active residents who know their area best. These committees lead volunteer actions such as cleaning streets, planting trees, improving public spaces, and supporting local facilities. Alongside practical work, members take part in trainings on citizenship, environmental awareness, and community engagement. The project strengthens trust between youth, residents, and local government, and shows how shared responsibility can turn neighborhoods into more
