Overview
The NYC Public School Climate Education Passive House Training Center transforms an underused classroom into a hands-on hub linking climate literacy with equitable workforce development for marginalized communities. Built on long-term partnerships with NYC public schools and universities such as Pratt Institute and Columbia University, the program delivers practical training in energy-efficient construction and high-performance building systems. Student learning outcomes are tracked through skills-based assessments, project completion, and participation in certification-aligned activities, while career pathways are supported through exposure to postsecondary programs, internships, and green workforce networks. The project documents curriculum, outcomes, and partnerships to support replication and adaptation across school districts and international contexts.
