‘Accessibility Passport’: Inclusive Tourism
The project develops a methodological framework to evaluate physical, sensory, and communicational accessibility along tourist routes, translating data into spatial indicators for public policy and inclusive well-being
Overview
“Urban Accessibility Mapping for Inclusive Tourism in São Paulo” develops a methodological framework to assess physical, sensory, and communicational accessibility across tourist routes. Through the integration of field observation, geospatial analysis, and participatory methods, the project translates lived experiences into spatial indicators that support public policy and planning. As part of the Passaporte Acessível initiative, it has mapped more than 30 tourist routes and nearly 200 attractions, addressing accessibility for people with motor, auditory, visual, and intellectual disabilities, as well as older adults, pregnant people, and people with obesity. The project positions accessibility as a dimension of social justice, collective care, and urban well-being.
