Sustainable Roots, a Magé, Brazil, community initiative led by Cozinha Colher de Pau, promotes agroecological knowledge, food sovereignty, and sustainable practices through free workshops. It teaches the full use of local ingredients, like banana and jackfruit, encouraging circular food practices, reducing waste, and strengthening family farming and local food systems. Farmers, cooks, and residents engage in collective learning connecting cultivation, preparation, and cultural traditions. Aligned with SDG 2, SDG 12, and SDG 15, the project prioritizes inclusion and equity. Activities offer sign language interpretation, audio description, accessible spaces, and community transport, ensuring full participation for people of all ages and backgrounds.
