Community Participation and Decision Making

“Towards a Partnered Community” is a local initiative led by the Dura Youth Council in cooperation with the Municipality of Dura. The project is built around a simple idea: bringing decision-making closer to people.

Participation in Urban Governance

This project explores how digital and in-person engagement shape public voice in urban governance in Niterói, highlighting gaps between demographic reality, lived territory, and how institutions listen through digital systems.

Embedding the SDGs in Design Education

Design Process Studio integrated UNSDGs into second-semester interior design education, positioning sustainability as foundational rather than supplementary. Students addressed real-world challenges, examining how design decisions intersect with environmental, social, and economic systems.

Kigali Urban Fabric Initiative

The Kigali Urban Fabric Initiative is an informal settlement upgrading project in 3 communities implementing small-scale social facilities and public spaces co-designed, co-constructed,and co-managed by residents and urban stakeholders.

Housing for Universal Access

The project investigates how differentiated user needs and resident knowledge can inform socially and environmentally sustainable transformation of Denmark’s existing building stock, challenging normative housing models and supporting inclusive, low-carbon futures.
